Made from granite and charred amber wood, this piece is an exploration into how two materials can be brought into alignment through erosion. The stone is left intact, and the wood is carved to receive it, following its contours in a way that draws from kigumi—where a perfect fit is achieved by repeatedly coating the stone in ink, placing the wooden piece on it and carving away the material where the ink has been transferred.

What emerges is not a fixed joint but a record of adjustment. The wood holds the memory of each correction, shaped by the resistance of the stone.
